Renegade had an amazing time hosting the Heroscape: Vengeance for Valhalla Event Battles at Gen Con. If you missed the event, here's the full recap!

Players paired off into teams to play in this event. This scenario was a reunion of the "Swarm of the Marro 5" of Sgt. Drake Alexander, Raelin the Kyrie Warrior, Sonlen, Major Q11, and Shiori teaming up with Loviatäk the Kyrie Warrior to bring the fight to Utgar's doorstep.

The scenario takes place on a spectacular lava map representing the entrance to Utgar's fortress, guarded by an assortment of iconic Utgar figures from the game's original run (which were generously loaned by Renegade staff and contractors). While the canon ending involves the team's success and Utgar's death (?!) at Loviatäk's hand, a bleak, non-canon ending was also possible where Utgar triumphs and the five friends fall. 

The event was consistently busy throughout the con, with some players returning multiple times to play as different sides or try for a different ending. Sometimes, if there was an empty seat, one of us Heroscape developers would sit in for a game! It was always a treat to see people having fun with the story and exploring the sort of exciting scenario play that Heroscape is capable of.
