About Renegade Game Studios
Renegade Game Studios was founded in 2014 in San Diego, CA, by industry veteran Scott Gaeta. With over 30 years of experience in the tabletop gaming industry, Scott leveraged his expertise to launch Renegade with immediate success, delivering award-winning games and defining a new era of innovative and accessible tabletop entertainment.
Scott’s journey in gaming began in 1996 when he opened a successful game store during the golden age of collectible card games (CCGs). The store thrived, expanding into board games and miniatures. Scott soon transitioned to consulting for Decipher, contributing to iconic CCGs such as Star Wars, Star Trek, and The Lord of the Rings. After selling his store, he became Decipher’s Senior Vice President, later joining Upper Deck Entertainment as Senior Director, overseeing major tabletop hits featuring Yu-Gi-Oh!, Marvel, World of Warcraft, Hello Kitty, and more.
In 2010, Scott co-founded Cryptozoic Entertainment, where he helped create and distribute blockbuster games, including World of Warcraft CCG expansions and other licensed tabletop products. By 2014, Scott was ready to embark on a new challenge: building a company that would make hobby-quality games accessible to a wider audience. That vision became Renegade Game Studios, now a leader in delivering engaging, inclusive, and unforgettable gaming experiences.
Today, Renegade is proud to offer a diverse portfolio of beloved games, from original titles to partnerships with legendary brands, as we continue to push the boundaries of what tabletop games can achieve.
