As a Brambletooth, Girushia once gallivanted through the great roots of the Arborean underforest without a care. But when Arboreas chose him to become a Dryan, he was infused with a powerful connection to the forest, and he was called to the task which the planet assigned him: to preserve a single hallowed grove.

The titanic trees were on the verge of death. Skordyre harvesters had carved winding paths beneath the surface of their bark, chewing away wooden flesh in search of droplets of enchanted sap. So, Girushia raised high walls of thorns to barricade the borders of the grove and repel the insectoid hordes and began to repair the damage the Skordyre invasion had wrought, setting every aspect of the grove’s ecosystem in order.

Over hundreds of years, his grove became a shining example of what Arboreas could look like under Dryan supervision, so pristine that it even attracted enclaves of new Dryan led by City Speaker Marachott to study beneath the thousand-foot boughs. It was glorious… until the night
of the fire. He is still not sure where the flames began. The blaze consumed his life’s work, and then his life—or would have, had not the Valkyrie Aquilla pulled him into the world of Valhalla.

He has accompanied Ewashia on her mission to the Athenaeum in Laur, chiefly to help with her research into a cure for the Wellspring poison, but he also hopes to find an explanation for why Valhalla’s soil fosters plant life from dozens of different worlds, and to collect seeds from as many species as possible along the way. Someday, he will make his dream of a new grove a reality, and grow something that will leave the entire world in awe.
