His identity and past are both highly classified, and few, if any, know the truth of his origins. Though mysterious to most, he makes up for it with skill and unquestioned loyalty to G.I. Joe.

There are whispers that Snake Eyes has some relationship to the COBRA ninja, Storm Shadow. Whether these rumors are true or not, he is one of the few capable of going toe-to-toe with the Arashikage master.
